America 250 Window Decorating Contest Announcement!
One of the best problems we’ve had during our America 250 Window Decorating Contest is that it has become nearly impossible to choose a first, second, and third place winner! The creativity, talent, and community pride on display throughout downtown Beattyville have exceeded all of our expectations.
Because of that, we have decided to recognize all three artists who helped bring our Main Street storefronts to life. Citizens Bank & Trust was the first business to accept the challenge to participate in the patriotic window decorating contest. Their willingness to jump in and lead the way inspired others to join the celebration, and we sincerely appreciate them for helping kick off this exciting community effort. Their artwork was created by “Window artistry by Bri”
Erica Mason of Erica’s Creations accepted Beattyville Main Street and Lee County Tourism’s invitation to help paint downtown windows and quickly wowed everyone with her incredible talent. As a high school student, Erica has demonstrated amazing creativity and attention to detail. The sky is truly the limit for this talented young artist, and we are proud to have her beautiful work displayed on Main Street.
Jennifer Chavez of Sassafras Tea Studios also accepted our invitation to help transform downtown storefronts into beautiful works of art. Jennifer’s artistic talent shines through every window she has painted. She also joined us during the Beattyville Appalachian Memories Festival, where she spread cheer with her face painting. We are grateful to have her artwork adding beauty and patriotic spirit to Main Street.
A special thank you goes to Beattyville Main Street/City of Beattyville, the Beattyville/Lee County Tourism Commission, and the Beattyville/Lee County Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring a portion of the artwork and contest. We also sincerely appreciate the businesses that invested in having their storefronts decorated. Your support has helped create a beautiful, welcoming downtown for our community and visitors alike.
And we’re not finished yet! The patriotic window displays will remain up through Labor Day, so if you haven’t taken a stroll through downtown, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the artwork. We hope even more businesses will join the celebration as we continue honoring America’s 250th birthday. Let’s keep the momentum going and continue making Main Street a place our community can be proud of!
